Printed personalized facebook calendars

Personera, a South African based startup which launched in November last year seems to have some competition, from copy cat services. The company was launched by South African entrepreneur Sheran Amod.

What is personera?
Personera lets you login via facebook connect, and automatically make your content available to the product. You can then customize a calendar by dragging photos to it, customizing the theme and automatically adding birthdays and events for the coming year.

So why write about this 2 months later?
One of the blogs i monitor recently reported of a similar service launched in India by itasveer.

It took a mere two months for the service to be copied, however i have tested the service from Itasveer and Personera, and its clear that Personera is much more well thought out. The Itasveer service only lets you choose between 3 templates for you calendar, and you can only add about 3-4 pictures, the calendar’s themselves are only a single page.

Where as the Personera website is much more usable, with more customization options with the calendar being a full 12 month, 32 page calendar. Take a look at the images below:
