International Science Innovation & Technology Exhibition (Insite), Johannesburg, South Africa
The International Science, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (INSITE) is a science and technology event which provides an international showcase for innovative science and technology solutions to some of the world’s most pressing social and economic challenges.
The theme for INSITE 2008 is the role of Science. Technology and Innovation as key drivers of economic growth and development and for the enhancement of the quality of life. The exhibition will focus on Youth & reducing the skills shortages in Science & Engineering, Strategic Economic Interventions and sustainable development. Along with INSITE additional conferences will be held together with INSITE Bio2Biz 2008 and the International Association of Science Parks (IASP).
Software Freedom Day an international celebration of Free and open source software will be celebrated and hosted at a special Open Source for business Pavilion. The pavilion will feature the players in the open source community of South Africa as well as international ones. The pavilion will also host demo’s, talks and workshops.
The exhibition will also feature the Philip Tobias lecture award for 2008 by Professor Malegapuru Makgoba on the final day.
