Foodcreations, Social networking for chefs?
Foodcreations, is a ’social networking’ web site for food lovers, cooks and chef’s. Now it has very rudimentary social networking features each user gets a basic profile, you can add a friends and send messages. In addition you can share recipes, add your favorite recipes to your profile and review recipes that were posted. This is a very niched site and do not expect it to be sold anytime soon for a high price, nor should we expect the facebook crew to move over in droves. However what is interesting about this site is that it is sponsored by Stork margarine, which is a brand of Unilever. This is actually a play by unilever to leverage social networking to create a community around their product. It is a very intelligent and relevant way of making use of the the internet for marketing and It will be interesting to see how this one pans out.

No probs, it would be interesting to revisit this in 6 months and see how it has affected their brands etc. Any idea if they are tracking the results of this?
they do have a very widespread campaign on…they have recipes available in all the supermarkets next to their products as well.

Thanks for the Link Ismail, I do think, from a marketing perspective, that it’s a really good way to get consumers of the product really interacting with both the product and the brand.
